Indian equities open higher in morning trade
Mumbai, June 19 A benchmark index for Indian equities, the sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), on Friday opened higher and was trading at 27,258.85 points some 15 minutes after the opening bell.
The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was also trading higher, at 8,208.90 points with a gain of 34.30 points or 0.42 percent.
The 30-share Sensex opened at 27,241.98 points, against the previous close at 27,207.76 points. At 9.45 a.m., it was ruling at 27,261.95 points, with a gain of 146.12 points, or 0.54 percent.
