Roy Mathew Elected MAGH President; Team United Secures Clear Victory

The election to the 2026–2027 Board of Directors of the Malayalee Association of Greater Houston (MAGH) concluded with a clear victory for Team United, led by Roy Mathew, who was elected President.
The polling, held on Saturday, recorded strong voter participation, reflecting active engagement from the community. Roy Mathew secured 1,509 votes, while rival candidate Chacko P. Thomas received 836 votes.
Team United achieved a comprehensive win, with its candidates securing positions across the Executive Committee and Board of Directors. The outcome highlighted broad support for the team’s platform, which focused on unity, transparency, and organizational progress.
During the campaign, Team United emphasized strengthening community involvement, encouraging greater participation from youth and women, and promoting inclusive and efficient administration.
Following the announcement of results, Roy Mathew thanked the members for their confidence and support, stating that the mandate reflects a collective desire for cooperation and forward movement within MAGH. He reaffirmed his commitment to serving the organization without divisions and working for the benefit of the entire community.
The newly elected board is expected to assume office shortly and begin its term of service.
