Edison Mayor Sam Joshi Praises Kerala’s Beauty at IPCNA Media Conference

Edison, New Jersey:
Edison Mayor Sam Joshi delivered an inspiring address at the India Press Club of North America (IPCNA) Media Conference, held at the Sheraton Edison Hotel, where he shared heartfelt reflections on his recent visit to India.

Mayor Joshi, who accompanied New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy on an official delegation to India, described Kochi as “one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen.”

“I’ve told everyone repeatedly—if you’ve never been to Kochi, you have to go,” Joshi said, praising Kerala’s culture, hospitality, and cuisine. He recounted how the Chief Minister and Mayor of Kochi welcomed their team during the Onam celebrations, adding, “Everything—from the moment we landed to the vibrant festivities—was truly remarkable.”

Joshi expressed that his heart “was still in Kochi,” and encouraged the community to stay united. “If we don’t help each other and our culture thrive, then who will? We have to look out for one another,” he said. Reaffirming his commitment to inclusivity, he added, “As long as I’m Mayor, everyone is welcome here in Edison. This township is your home.”

Dignitaries including N. K. Premachandran MP, V. K. Sreekandan MP (Palakkad), and Pramod Narayan MLA (Ranni) graced the occasion, along with several leading media professionals from India and North America.

Eminent journalists Johny Lukose, Hashmi Taj Ibrahim, Abgeoth Varghese, Sujaya Parvathy, Mothy Rajesh, and Leen B. Jesmas joined the event and praised IPCNA for providing a global forum that celebrates journalistic excellence, cultural identity, and unity among Malayali media professionals.

With over 35% of Edison’s population being Indian American, the township stands as one of the most diverse and vibrant communities in the United States. The IPCNA conference reflected that spirit—bridging cultures and strengthening the bond between Indian and North American media professionals.

Mayor Joshi concluded by congratulating IPCNA and its leadership for fostering cross-cultural understanding and promoting the values of unity, integrity, and journalistic excellence.
