State University of New York Student from India Dies in New York Bike Accident

Tragically, a bike accident on May 22nd claimed the life of Shri Belem Atchyuth, a student at SUNY who was originally from Andhra Pradesh, India.
The news was confirmed in a post on X by the Indian Consulate in New York. We are deeply saddened to hear about the tragic loss of Shri Belem Atchyuth, a student at SUNY who was involved in a bike accident and passed away yesterday evening. Our thoughts and condolences go out to his family. The consulate in New York (@IndiainNewYork) is reaching out to the family and local agencies to offer any assistance, including the repatriation of his mortal remains to India.
Students of Indian descent studying in the United States have been the victims of a string of unfortunate incidents. Reportedly, on May 14th, a software developer from Hyderabad named Abbaraju Prudhvi Raj was murdered in a car accident in North Carolina. The same day, a single-vehicle collision in Alpharetta, Georgia, killed three 18-year-old Indian-American teenagers and injured two more. Two teenagers from Telangana, India, who were studying in the United States, tragically lost their lives in a car crash that occurred late on April 20 in Arizona.
