Priyam Gandhi-Mody, an Indian author and political communications strategist, spoke at a Chicago event on April 30, 2024, that examined the Indo-US strategic alliance in the context of the 2024 elections. Global Indian Diaspora was the group in charge of planning the gathering.

Attendee Jayanti Oza reported that Gandhi-Mody, drawing parallels between the two nations' political procedures, discussed the importance of the upcoming elections for the world's two biggest and oldest democracies."Bharat is not only the largest but also the oldest democracy," she proclaimed, highlighting the fact that ancient Indian writings such as the Rigveda, Atharvaveda, and Mahabharata all make reference to democratic actions.

Prime Minister Modi's vision of 'Viksit Bharat' (Developed India), which she also discussed, has the potential to deepen cooperation between the US and India in various sectors, including space, deep sea exploration, defence, highly skilled human resources, economic development, and the robust electoral process conducted on a massive scale in India.

She pointed out that the human resources sector might be impacted by the US elections' decision on the H-1B visa laws, which in turn could hinder the influx of highly qualified Indian experts to the US.

Global Indian Diaspora's creator, Rakesh Malhotra, emphasised the vital importance of the Indo-US strategic alliance.

"Democracy ignites advancement and wealth! … The Indo-US leadership is crucial for peace, economic development, sustainability, and collaboration on a global scale, according to Malhotra. The two countries' similar principles of inclusivity and diversity make it more than merely significant.

Journalist and political pundit Avatans Kumar discussed how stories and social media impact voters in both nations.

It is critical for both India and the US to comprehend the influence of narratives and social media on voters in this era of information overload. According to Kumar, these forums are potent instruments of modern democracy because of the influence they have on public opinion and policymaking. In addition, he oversaw a question and answer round.

Abhinav Raina, co-founder of the Global Indian Diaspora, thanked everyone who came out to support the event. In light of the impending elections, the Global Indian Diaspora is overjoyed and appreciative to have Priyam Gandhi-Mody here to share her knowledge of the Indo-US strategic cooperation. Our dedication to promoting understanding and cooperation among members of the Indian diaspora around the globe is highlighted by this gathering. Gurukul member and event host Alpesh Radadiya shared similar views.
