Young child and elderly Indian couple killed in tragic Canadian collision

An announcement from the Ontario Special Investigations Unit states that on April 29th, a three-month-old grandson, an elderly couple from India, and another car were killed in a multi-vehicle accident on Highway 401 in Whitby.
From the Nissan Sentra that was involved in the accident: a male passenger, 60 years old, and a female passenger, 55 years old, who were both tourists from India... "At the scene, their three-month-old grandson was also pronounced deceased stated the news release .The baby's parents, a father of 33 years and a woman of 27 years, were also in this conveyance.

The Ajax parents were both transported to the hospital for treatment. A statement was also sent in which stated that the mother was treated for significant injuries. In a statement, the Indian Consulate General in Toronto offered their condolences and stated that they were in contact with Canadian authorities to discuss the matter further.

Our deepest sympathies are with the families of the three Indian nationals—Mr. Manivannan, Mrs. Mahalakshmi, and their grandchild—who tragically perished in the crash on Highway 401. The grieving family was welcomed by CG at the hospital, and CG told them that they would be of infinite support. "The Consulate office is in touch with the Canadian authorities," the message read on section X.

Fatalities were also reported from the freight van that was involved in the collision. The driver, a man of 21 years old, was declared dead at the scene of the collision from the cargo van that was initially under investigation by the police. This male passenger, who was 38 years old, was taken to the hospital to be treated for significant injuries, according to the SIU statement. Police in the area have assigned a total of seven detectives to the case, including one forensic investigator and one collision reconstructionist.
