A trade mission by the USDA aims to strengthen agricultural ties between India and the US.

April 12 :
From April 22nd to the 25th, 47 different firms and organisations will be led on a trade mission to New Delhi, India by Alexis M. Taylor, the US Department of Agriculture's (USDA) Secretary for Trade and Foreign Agricultural Affairs.

Trade mission participants will attend targeted meetings and site visits to strengthen existing partnerships, see US products in the market, and learn about the newest food trends among Indian consumers. They will also seek to establish new trade connections and strengthen existing ones. Industry trade experts and the USDA's Foreign Agricultural Service will brief them thoroughly about the market, which will be beneficial to them as well.

The one and only Native American or Tribal community representation, Red Lake, Inc. of the Red Lake Nation, was praised by Senator Tina Smith, who is on the Senate Indian Affairs Committee, for their involvement. Native American farmers may have distinct and difficult obstacles to owning and running productive farms; therefore, it is imperative that we support all farmers, including Native American farmers, according to Senator Smith.

She went on to say that Red Lake will have a fantastic chance to expand their agricultural product market with this trade mission to India.

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) is relentless in its pursuit of untapped global markets for American food and agricultural products through its vast worldwide presence. The commercial relationship between India and the US has been strengthened due to the recent reduction of tariff requirements for a variety of US agricultural products, such as poultry, vegetables, fruits, pulses, and tree nuts.

A news release from the Foreign Agricultural Service stated that the forthcoming trade mission will continue to build upon these accomplishments by aiming to secure more purchase agreements for American producers, ranchers, and farmers and by further developing trade connections between the US and India.
