March 25:
M. Osman Siddique, a businessman and diplomat from Bangladesh, has expressed President Joe Biden's intention to join the National Security Education Board (NSEB), which oversees and provides strategic direction for the National Security Education Programme.

One of the six presidential appointees to the 14-member NSEB is Siddique, who is the first American Muslim ambassador to serve as Chief of Mission to the Fiji Islands. The other appointees include professionals from academia and non-profit organisations.

The announcement was made on March 22 by the White House. He told the American Bazaar, "I'm grateful to President Biden for choosing me to serve on the NSEB board." "The greatest honour is to serve the people of the United States."

To improve the nation's ability to comprehend and communicate with various cultures and languages, NSEB offers a variety of fellowships and awards, such as the David L. Boren Scholarships and Fellowships.

President Bill Clinton nominated Siddique, who from 1999 to 2001 had concurrent appointments as US Ambassador to the Government of Tuvalu, the Kingdom of Tonga, and the Republic of Fiji Islands.

Siddique began his professional career with a Fortune 500 corporation after earning his MBA from Indiana University's Kelley School of Business. However, according to his White House description, he quickly became a prosperous businessman in the nation's capital and a successful entrepreneur. He developed into a very involved member of the Democratic Party and national politics under the guidance of Senator Ted Kennedy (D-MA). Siddique was named a trustee to the Board of Governors of the East West Centre in Honolulu, Hawaii, by President Barack Obama in 2011.

Nowadays, Siddique not only serves as a strategic counsellor to numerous global corporations, but he also holds non-resident senior fellow positions on several boards, such as the Atlantic Council. Siddique, who was born in Bangladesh, presently resides in McLean, Virginia, with his spouse Catherine. "Leaps of Faith: An Immigrant's Odyssey of Struggle, Success, and Service to his Country," his memoir, was just completed by him.
