Ohioan Niraj Antani's run for US Congress is unsuccessful.

March 21 :
Niraj Antani, an Indian American Republican state senator from Ohio, was not successful in his primary campaign for the US House of Representatives representing the second Congressional District.
In Tuesday's party primary, Antani, who in 2021 became the first Indian American state senator in Buckeye state history, competed against 11 other contenders to succeed retiring Representative Brad Wenstrup.
The New York Times reported that Antani received 1,497 votes, or 1.8% of the total, placing him in tenth place. He intends to stay in the Senate until December 21, when his term ends.
Born and bred in Miami Township, Antani served six years in the Ohio House before winning his first election in 2020 to represent his Dayton-area Senate district. He is the first Indian American senator currently serving in the Senate as well as the youngest senator from Ohio.
Over 87,000 Indian Americans live in Montgomery County, which is in the 6th Senate District's southern, eastern, and northern regions.
Antani completed his studies at Ohio State University and Miamisburg High School, where he obtained a bachelor's degree.
Antani pledged to be "a conservative warrior in Congress and fight against Joe Biden's disastrous policies" in a press release declaring his candidature for US Congress on November 14. According to his analysis on X, the "partisan voter index leans significantly Republican" in the second district. He continued, "I look forward to working hard over the next days, weeks, and months to earn the support of the voters and to win this campaign."
