Star players illuminated the famous tower at the Empire State Building in New York to mark the start of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 Trophy Tour.

The Empire State Building in New York City has been illuminated in the navy and pink colours of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 Trophy Tour by two-time champion Chris Gayle and USA player Ali Khan.

As per an ICC release, Gayle and Khan lit up the Empire State Building during an official ceremony on Tuesday to usher in the largest-ever global T20 cricket tournament.

The ICC Men's T20 World Cup Trophy, which all 20 countries will be vying for throughout the West Indies and the USA from June 1–29, was perched atop the 1250-foot tower.

More tickets have been made available for 51 of the 55 games, including ones whose allocations were previously sold out, in response to the overwhelming demand for tickets that resulted in more than three million applications being submitted during the public ballot.

In order to accommodate as many fans as possible, tickets for matches in all nine host locations are now available. At tickets.t20worldcup.com, fans can register and reserve their World Cup experience.

A selection of first-rate hospitality options, such as food and drink packages, are also currently offered at tickets.t20worldcup.com for all games played at West Indies venues as well as all games played at Nassau County International Stadium in New York.

The ICC World Cup will be held in the United States for the first time, with eight matches to be played in the brand-new, cutting-edge, modular stadium in Nassau County, New York, which has a 34,000 capacity.

Grand Prairie Cricket Stadium in Dallas and Broward County Stadium in Lauderhill, both recently refurbished, will each host four games.

The Trophy will travel to growing cricket nations in the Americas, including Argentina, Brazil, and Canada, in addition to all host venues in the West Indies and the USA. This will allow new fans to follow what promises to be a historic event in the region.

Fans may follow the Trophy Tour on t20worldcup.com and the ICC's social media channels from any location.

"With less than three months until the first ball of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024, there is huge anticipation for what will be a historic event for cricket in the Americas," stated Claire Furlong, general manager of the ICC for marketing and communications.

In the meantime, "taking a pivotal step forward in our mission to elevate the national team's competitiveness on the global stage," USA Cricket announced the formation of a new Men's Selection Panel.

The new panel consists of Naseer Jamali, Agam Pandit, Sunny Sohal, Barrington Bartley, and Ravi Timbawala (Chair), some of whom have worn the USA Men's National Team jersey in the last 10 years.

Currently taking place in Prairie View, Texas, the Men's T20 National Championship will be the first formal responsibility of the newly appointed selection panel. It stated that "this event serves as a crucial step in assembling a wider squad in preparation for the T20 World Cup in June, in addition to showcasing the nation's top cricketing talent."

According to USA Cricket, the panel's firsthand knowledge and recent participation in international tournaments provide them a distinct advantage in spotting and developing the potential required to assemble a strong squad for the impending difficulties.
