A couple of Indian descent and their daughter perish in a brampton fire

Canada , March 16 :
An Indian-origin couple and their teenage daughter perished in a "suspicious" fire that burned their home last week, according to information released by police in the Canadian province of Ontario on Friday.
A press release from Peel Police states that on March 7, a residence in Brampton caught fire at the intersection of Big Sky Way and Van Kirk Drive.
After the fire was put out, investigators found what looked to be human remains inside the burnt house, but it was impossible to verify how many people had died at the time.
On Friday, the burnt bodies of three family members were identified: their 16-year-old daughter Mahek Warikoo, 51-year-old Rajiv Warikoo, and 47-year-old Shilpa Kotha.
They had resided at the address before the fire, according to the police.
Peel police Constable Taryn Young said on Friday that the fire was thought to be suspicious, according to CTV news.
According to the article, Young stated, "At this point, we are investigating this with our homicide bureau, and we are deeming this as suspicious as the Ontario Fire Marshal has deemed that this fire was not accidental."
Young responded, "There's not much left to it," when questioned about the fire's potential source.
As a fire marshal, I'm sure it's quite difficult to investigate something like that when there isn't much left to look at. However, we have tried every option," she remarked. Kenneth Yousaf, the family's neighbour who passed away, stated that the family had resided on the street for almost 15 years without ever causing him any trouble.
Yousaf claimed that a family member informed him about the fire last week after hearing a loud "bang." "The home was on fire as we emerged. Such sorrow. Everything was destroyed in a matter of hours, according to Yousaf, who was quoted in the story.
Police claimed they are still looking into the deaths of the three family members in a press release and asked anyone with knowledge to come forward.
"The circumstances surrounding the house fire are still being investigated, and anyone with information or any kind of video footage—including dashcam footage—is encouraged to get in touch with the Homicide detectives," the police stated.
