91-year-old North Jersey resident and former host of 'CBS Sunday Morning,' Charles Osgood, passes away.

Charles Osgood, a longtime resident of Bergen County and a fixture on "CBS Sunday Morning" for decades, passed away on Tuesday, January 23 at the age of 91 from dementia in Upper Saddle River, according to an obituary published by CBS News that was shared by his family.

Charles Osgood Wood III Osgood, who was born in 1971, became the anchor of the esteemed Sunday morning broadcast on CBS News for a period of 22 years, from 1994 to 2016. In addition to appearing on "CBS Morning News" and "CBS Evening News with Dan Rather," he was the presenter of CBS Radio's "The Osgood File."

According to his obituary, in addition to six Emmys, Osgood received the Walter Cronkite Excellence in Journalism Award, a Peabody Award, and the National Association of Broadcasters Distinguished Service Award.


"Until we meet again on the radio" was his signature farewell.
