GOPIO-Manhattan Completes Three Years of Community Feeding for Homeless and Needy in Manhattan

GOPIO-Manhattan has been doing a community feeding on the last Monday of every month in cooperation with Interfaith Services serving a vegetarian lunch at the Tompkins Square Park in Manhattan (New York City). Generally over 60 homeless and needy turn up for a nutritious vegetarian lunch. Individual community members sponsor this lunch. The program was started in December 2020 by GOPIO-Manhattan with GOPIO Chairman Dr. Thomas Abraham as the first sponsor. Last month feeding was sponsored by GOPIO-Manhattan Secretary Bhavya Gupta. With that GOPIO-Manhattan completes three years of serving the food for homeless and needy in Manhattan.
GOPIO-Manhattan invites sponsors for 2024 schedules. One may sponsor it for loved one’s birthday or death anniversary or otherwise. The food is prepared by volunteers of Interfaith Services in a nearby kitchen. Sponsors are welcome to come and serve the food, but not necessary. Sponsorship fee is only $300. If interested to sponsor, call the program chair who is the chapter Vice President Dr. Vimal Goyle at 316-371-7098 or write to info@gopiomanhattan.org.
