Custody of Shivashankaran casts big shadow on Pinarayi government
Thiruvananthapuram : Oct 28 M Shivashankaran former principal secretary of Pinarayi Vijayan ,chief minister of Kerala ,was taken into custody on wednesday morning by Enforcement directorate The action came after his anticipatory bail was rejected by the court .Soon the officials of ED taken custody of him and proceeded to kochi to question him thee .The action would have far reaching consequences in the politics of Kerala .
The ED had contended that Shivashankaran might have planned the gold smuggling and was in a position to destroy evidence.There were enough evidence for his collusion with the arrested Swapna Suresh now lodged in jail ,It requires more questioning to know who all are behind the smuggling.
Though Sivashankar told the court that the ED had been making narrative of their choice the court did not grant him anticipatory bail paving the way for the action.
The custody of the former principal secretary of the chief minister have a far reaching political consequences .As the chief ministers office comes into the picture ,shivashankar`s questioning would cast a bigger shadow on the Kerala government now at the final year of governance .The case also would cast a shadow on the coming local body elections as the LDF would have to answer the serious charges of the opposition .
