Indian delegation visits pearland, Texas

Twelve member delegation from India visited City of Pearland, Texas in the week of October 14th 2019. Delegation included officials from Governments of Gujarat, Odisha and from Rajasthan. Week long. Workshop sessions included overview of GIS system, permitting and inspections, merits of increased park space, Emergency management , code enforcement, visit traffic operations center, strip center with focus on garbage management, solid waste contract, water, and wastewater operations. Clay Pearson, Manager, City of Pearland coordinated the visit. Sam Kannappan worked with City of Pearland for the visit.

Urban Management center, Ahmedabad was represented Maghna Malhotra, Anurag Anthony,Arvind Kumar Singh and Vinaykumar Narendrakumar Patel. Commissioner Mahendrakumar Somabhai Patel was from Municipal Administration, Gujarat. Director Sangramjeet Nayak and Principal Secretary Mathivathanan Govindarajan represented Government of Odisha. Subham Saxena, Ujjawal Rathod, Himani Tiwari, Sampat Meghwal and Rahul Gupta are from Rajasthan.

On Friday, October 18th, Indian Consulate at Houston held a lunch reception for the delegation. Consul General explained how Public Private partnership works in Houston. Deputy Consul General Surendra Adhana presented the working of the Houston consulate. Josh Davis of Greater Houston Partnership presented improvements in trade between Houston and India between 2017 and 2019.
