Priyanka flays UP government over crimes against women
New Delhi, June 20: Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi on Thursday slammed the Uttar Pradesh government over crimes committed against women and demanded to know when will it provide security to them.
"In Uttar Pradesh atrocities are being done on innocents. Women are being pushed into an environment of fear. People are being burnt alive. But the people in power are unable to see anything. When will the Uttar Pradesh government start taking responsibility for the safety of women and girls," she tweeted.
Gandhi's remarks after media reports highlighted cases of crimes against women in the state.
