Be it for the good or otherwise, America is the trendsetter for almost everything in our current times. The 70's sawed the legalization of abortion vide the Roe - Vs. Wade; the landmark decision issued in 1973 by the United States Supreme Court on the issue of the constitutionality of State laws that criminalized or restricted access to abortions. This U.S. Supreme Court ruling disqualified individual State laws banning abortion are unconstitutional. In other words, this Supreme Court decision established a woman's legal right to an abortion. The Court ruled, in a 7-2 decision, that a woman's right to choose an abortion assisted/supervised by a Doctor (within and prior to the 28th week of consumption) was protected by the privacy rights guaranteed by the Fourteenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. This landmark decision legalized abortion nationwide in the US. The mothers’ health problems, the embryo’s ill health, or the justifiable unfortunate excuses such as ‘pregnancy caused by rape and sexual assault’ etc gave supporting moral-legal grounds to this legal verdict.
New York State saw several bills in the Democratic Party controlled State Congress towards legitimatizing abortion at any given time of the pregnancy; however as could not be passed in the Senate, the bills never became law until 2018. The by-elections of last year yielded a NY State Senate with Democratic majority and in January 2019 they passed the “Reproductive Health Act” (RHA of NY) law to a State law with historical legal precedent. New York Governor Mr. Andrew Mark Cuomo celebrated this by lighting pink lamps at the World Trade Center.
By aborting a 49-year-old ‘reasonably moral’ abortion law the NY State Senate broadened this legal slaughter of fellow lives! President Trump criticized the Democratic Party sarcastically calling them as the “Party of Late-Term Abortion.”
As per the erstwhile version of the law, abortions could be allowed only to protect the life of the mother and that too under the supervision of a qualified Doctor. However, now it’s legal to destroy the fetus if any time during the pregnancy provided the fetal viability is found undesired. This clause is supplemented with the edit that anyone can assist the abortion – in other words, it’s not required to have the presence and care of a Gynecologist to conduct the abortion procedure; a certified Midwife, NP or a PA could do the abortion procedure lawfully!

The health and wellbeing of the mother and the baby for sure is conscientious. However, the dimensions of credible abuse this amendment shall enable are widely opinionated. The unintended consequence of the RHA of NY law will promote immoral lives enabled illicit pregnancies is a definite probability. It will be as much easy to conduct an abortion (Read - kill a precious soul, that is so helpless even to cry for help!) as much easier than having a flu shot! This NY RHA is enabling and unfortunately facilitating an easy lowering of social morals in an otherwise challenged, weakened and ailing ‘modern’ society.
National stats show that New York is the place where the highest numbers of abortion procedures are occurring. It is reported that in 2014, 119,940 Cases and in 2015 93,096 abortion procedures were done in NY State alone. This is almost double the average rate of the US national statistics on pregnancy termination.
There is no doubt about the prerogative of her authority and the right to protect her health and life. On the contrary, surprisingly in Georgia State Assembly, the so-called "heartbeat" abortion bill won final approval Friday and was sent to the governor, Gov. Brian Kemp, a Republican, supports the legislation is expected to sign it. The Republican-majority House voted in favor of House Bill 481, called the Living Infants Fairness and Equality Act, and the bill was approved 92 to 78, said Kaleb McMichen, director of communications for House Speaker David Ralston.
