Internacional keep alive Brazil Serie A title hopes
Rio de Janeiro, Nov 16: Former Brazil international striker Leandro Damiao scored one goal and set up another as Internacional kept alive their Brazilian Serie A title hopes with a 2-0 victory over America Mineiro.
Damiao on Thursday netted his 10th goal of the season in the 24th minute before setting up Edenilson with a defence-splitting through ball on the stroke of halftime, reports Xinhua news agency.
The result at Estadio Beira-Rio left Internacional just five points behind leaders Palmeiras with four matches remaining.
In other matches, Botafogo won 1-0 at Chapecoense and Sao Paulo were held to a 1-1 home draw by Gremio.
