Akshay Kumar's PadMan to Screen at Tokyo International Film Festival

Akshay Kumar has become quite the international sensation with his movies releasing all over the world. After, the success of ‘Gold’ in Saudi Arabia and ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ in China, Padman, a 2018 Bollywood blockbuster prepares to bring laurels to the country as it transcends geographical boundaries.

After successfully premiering in over 5 countries including United States, Russia and Iraq, PadMan is now all set to take the Japanese audience by storm during the nine-day Tokyo International Film Festival (TIFF).

The ‘Gold’ star shared the news on his official Twitter handle saying, “Here’s the Japanese poster of PADMAN! Excited for the film to be screened at the Tokyo International Film Festival #PADMAN #TIFFJP #パッドマン @PadManTheFilm @sonamakapoor @radhika_apte @mrsfunnybones @SonyPicsIndia #RBalki”

Directed by R Balki and produced by Twinke Khanna, PadMan is based on the life of social entrepreneur Arunachalam Muruganantham, who invented a low-cost sanitary pad machine to bring menstrual dignity to women across India. Arunachalam Muruganantham's story was also adapted in a segment of Twinkle Khanna'a second book The Legend of Lakshmi Prasad.

Akshay Kumar will next be seen in the fourth instalment of comedy franchise Housefull. He also has 2.0 with Rajnikanth, Kesari and Good News, in the line-up.
